Are There Specific Guidelines That Need to be Followed?

As a member of the Woodland Village community, there are some specific rules and guidelines that must be followed. Woodland Village  (a homeowner association) is very similar to a city or county government. Each has elected officials, public meetings, rules, and the ability to enforce them. These rules consist of issues such as parking violations, nuisances, basic upkeep, and allowed commercial uses.

As for additions to homes, the guidelines are clearly stated in the Amended and Restated Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Woodland Village (3.2.12). It states that homeowners must receive approval before commencing to repair or reconstruct the owner’s lot at their sole cost and expense, and these repairs shouldn’t impair the “structural soundness” of the lot.
