In the meantime, there is an abundance of fun activities you can partake in that follow social distancing regulations. 

One of the more popular activities Nevadans enjoy is exploring the great outdoors. There are several hiking trails in the area, including the renowned Hunter Creek Trail which leads to a flourishing waterfall. During the summer months, large and small groups of people take to the water by floating on rafts down the Truckee River. Another popular pastime is visiting the shores of Lake Tahoe, a beautiful blue lake that is beloved by the entire community. And if you enjoy the snow and cold, then take a day trip up to one of the many ski resorts located just miles from Reno’s center.

If outdoor activities aren’t your thing or the weather isn’t cooperating, then try the many indoor activities Reno has to offer. Home to a variety of local breweries and restaurants, eating out and grabbing drinks with friends are some of Reno’s favorite things to do. There are also many activities for your little ones to enjoy as well. The Coconut Bowl is a popular spot for bowling and children’s birthday parties. With a newly developed arcade, laser tag arena, and a go-kart track, the Coconut Bowl is a big hit amongst young and old guests. A GROWING TECHNOLOGY EPICENTER

In the last few years, some of the largest companies in the technology industry have planted themselves in Reno. These companies include Tesla, Apple, Panasonic, Intuit, Microsoft, Patagonia, and more. Reno has been coined the “New Silicon Valley,” and continues to evolve into the tech epicenter of Nevada. 

Back in October of 2018, Elon Musk proposed the idea of creating a housing compound for employees working at the Gigafactory. Musk’s Gigafactory currently employs over 7,000 employees but has plans to grow the company to 20,000 employees. 

Apple also began its migration to Nevada back in 2015 with the construction of its Apple Data Center. On top of their Eastern Campus, they have started developing plans for their Western Campus, as well as a solar power plant. They are aiming to have a staff that consists primarily of Nevadans, and 20% of those employees will be veterans.

Nevada, specifically Reno, has become a hub for new technology, manufacturing, and E-Commerce sites. This has created thousands of jobs for Nevada residents of all skill levels and experience, promoting growth in our once small community.
